Exploring East TN: Recreational Water Activities for Outdoor Enthusiasts

Updated: Jun 22

As summer nears and the temperatures rise, it’s the perfect time to explore the waterways of wonderful East TN. Whether you prefer cruising by boat, gliding along in a kayak, testing your balance on a paddle board, or just floating in an inner tube, this season offers the perfect opportunity to soak up the sun and explore the beauty of our region from a whole new perspective, savoring the tranquility of being on the water.

I can't think of anything better than spending a leisurely time out on Tellico Lake with family or friends. There's just something magical about drifting through some of the many coves you can find, enjoying the company of friends and family, and embracing the tranquility of being surrounded by water.

Now, let's talk about one of my absolute favorite summertime traditions: the raft up, also known locally as rafts off.

Picture this: a gathering of boats tied together, with music playing, snacks and beverages, and endless laughter filling the air. It's a floating party where everyone is welcome to swim, chat, and simply enjoy the good vibes. Trust me, it's a blast!

If you're visiting or plan to visit our neck of the woods and don't have your own watercraft, no worries! There are plenty of rental spots available. Just remember to book ahead, especially during peak season, as you won't want to miss out on the action!

To make things easier for you, I've put together a handy partial list below with the details you need to know.

So, what are you waiting for? Visit us, make a splash, and start creating some wonderful memories!

Cheers to a summer filled with sunshine, laughter, and unforgettable moments on and around the beautiful lakes in East TN!
